Charity Maina, from Abuja, arranged a competition for student nurses and midwives. Participants were asked to write 600 words on 'Why International Nurses' Day is important.'

The winners were Francisca Ikechukwu, Student Midwife and Juliet Ugwuona, Student Nurse. Click on their names to read the winning entries.

The event was attended by the Honorable Minister of Health, Dr Christian Onyebuchi Chukwu and the President of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Comrade Abdrafiu Alani Adeniji Charity. One of the students represented Florence Nightingale, the Lady with the Lamp, and all present shared the most wonderfully decorated cake!

International Nurses' Day 2014; New Delhi

Joby George, from the Global Research Nurses' Network in Delhi, worked with the R & R Hospital to hold an essay competition for IND. The winner was Stephi, shown below. Her prize was a Research Methods textbook.
