Bridge to Health Medical and Dental is comprised of a passionate group of professionals brought together by a common desire to provide healthcare to those in tremendous need. We partner with the local government and grassroots initiatives in low-resource settings to empower them in their work. We collaborate with these partners to design and implement long-term, sustainable, cost-effective solutions. We currently operate in underserved rural communities near Kabale, Uganda and Kisumu, Kenya. We are looking for healthcare professionals to travel with us to Kabale (Jan 26 - Feb 9) on our annual brigade.

In Uganda, we work with a local non-profit organization called Kigezi Healthcare Foundation (KIHEFO). During the brigade, we stay on KIHEFO property; they have an apartment complex that the ~30 volunteers on our team stay in. It's a wonderful team experience! Every morning, we drive out into the rural villages surrounding the town of Kabale to set up an outreach clinic. Usually these are at primary schools. The community is alerted in the weeks before that we will be there, so they arrive early to get registered. Patients are seen by our nurses at triage (usually they work out of a tent that we pitch) and then funnel through our other stations as needed, which are also in tents or in the classrooms: medical, dental, pharmacy, antenatal, eye station, lab, etc. During the course of the brigade (January 26 - February 9) we'll have eight outreach days. During the weekend we're in Uganda (February 1 - 3) we'll go to Birdnest, a resort on Lake Bunyoni to relax and recharge.
