About: I am a Senior Research Fellow at MRC Clinical Trials Unit at UCL. I qualified as a paediatric nurse in 1999 and have over 20 year’s academic and clinical experience working in paediatric HIV. I work on paediatric infectious diseases observational studies (HIV, COVID, mpox) in the Unit and a qualitative preparedness and mpox study as part of Verdi (a large-scale international COVID-19 in pregnancy and paediatric research project). I work 2 days a month in the unaccompanied asylum seeking children’s clinic at UCLH. In February 2021 I completed my mixed methods (epidemiology/sociology) PhD study examining the relationship between psychosocial factors and engagement in healthcare in young people with perinatal HIV in England at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
