Overview: We are excited to announce a one-day in-person workshop in Enugu, Nigeria, aimed at empowering nursing professionals with the latest insights in clinical research. The workshop is designed for individuals interested in nursing research, those with existing research experience, and those actively contributing to research initiatives. With a target attendance of 100 participants, this event will serve as a platform to strengthen the clinical research landscape in Nigeria.

Theme: Improving the Effectiveness of Nursing Practice through Clinical Research

Workshop outcomes:

  1. Ethical Consideration in Clinical Research:
    • Outcome: Participants will apply ethical principles to real-life clinical research scenarios, ensuring ethical decision-making in their professional practices.
  2. Career Pathway for Clinical Research Nurses:
    • Outcome: Participants will gain a clear understanding of diverse career paths in clinical research, enabling them to make informed decisions about their career trajectories.
  3. Clinical Research Nursing and Health Policy Development:
    • Outcome: Participants will collaborate to develop actionable policy proposals integrating clinical research findings, demonstrating their ability to contribute to evidence-based health policies.
  4. Introduction to TGHN and GRN and Activities – How to Use TGHN Website Resources:
    • Outcome: Participants will confidently navigate The Global Health Network and Global Research Nurses platforms, enabling them to access resources, online courses, and networking opportunities independently.
  5. Introduction to Clinical Research and Good Clinical Practice (GCP):
    • Outcome: Participants will exhibit a comprehensive understanding of clinical research methodologies and GCP principles, ensuring their ability to conduct ethical and regulatory compliant research.
  6. Data Collection, Sharing, and Data Safety in Clinical Research:
    • Outcome: Participants will demonstrate proficiency in data safety protocols and secure data sharing methods, ensuring the protection of research data and adherence to privacy standards.
