Dr Elize Pietersen, who started her career in research as a clinical research nurse working in a genetics department, joined GRN as its coordinator in April 2017. After getting up to speed with the technical side of maintaining the website Elize took advantage of local opportunities in her native South Africa during her first 6 months on the job. In a whirlwind of activity and time on the (sometimes dusty) road she spoke to more than 200 nurses from South Africa and other African countries interested in clinical research nursing as a career. See the articles drop down menu for her reports back on these events.
Going forward more events are being planned for 2018, including in Zambia.
