Volunteer Nursing Lead needed in Sierra Leone

The Global Alliance for Nursing and Midwifery is advertising for a Nursing Lead in Sierra Leone, on behalf of KSLP at King's College, London, to join its in-country team from March 2014. This person will be based in Freetown and will work closely with the Clinical, Management and Training Leads and will have a critical role in making the connection between the broader strategic, management, training and policy work of KSLP and the realities of nursing services at Connaught Hospital.

The Nursing Lead might undertake some clinical activity, normally 1-2 days per week as an extra-numerary staff member. The focus of the work however will be to provide technical support to the Connaught Hospital Improvement Committee and the new Matron. Examples of projects include strengthening the management of ward sisters, providing on-job training to staff and developing a system for ward staff to mentor and teach nursing students.

The Nursing Lead will also act as a vital link between our clinician partners at Connaught Hospital and both the local in-country team and the wider team of senior technical advisers in the UK. Download the full job description here.

If you would like more information, please visit www.kslp.org.uk To apply, email a covering letter and CV to recruitment@kslp.org.uk before Monday 23rd December 2013
