I am the Clinical Nurse Researcher for my Hospital and my key role is Research: i.e. proposal writing, data analysis & interpretation, scientific report writing and dissemination to the management team for advise on patient care improvements. This is how I got to write the Proposal on introduction of Clinical nurse educators successfully, based on the gaps in practice, noticed as I audited patient care in the wards retrospectively.
The CNEs have not been trained on Research Methods and we thought of including them in the evidence based health initiative project if we can get funding because we have no research budget in the Hospital.
I have written a concept on "Introduction of evidence based health initiative" and hope to get funding one day to implement evidence based quality improvement projects to improve patient care in my hospital with poor patients!. Research and evidence based care is new in the hospital and needs a lot of in put.
Does anyone know of any funding opportunities for this? We really need it to introduce evidence based nursing practice.
