During 2016 Global Research Nurses was invited to contribute to a module on research methods to an exiting pilot online course for nurses involved in genetic/genomic medicine. The initiative went live in 2017 with about 300 participants, in 19 locations in Africa, enrolled through interactive classrooms hosted by participating institutions across the continent. To equip them for engaging with their mini research projects, lecturers from Global Research Nurses (based at the University of Cape Town) and the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (based in Accra, Ghana) offered a module on Research Methods and Genetic Epidemiology respectively.
Given the positive feedback and enthusiasm from participants it is likely that the course will be offered again so we will be sure to keep you informed. In the mean time we have gathered together some open access materials about this topic....
