A fellowship opportunity is currently available with the Operational Research & Program Effectiveness Team (ORPET) in the Emergency Response and Recovery Branch (ERRB) of the Center for Global Health (CGH) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

CGH leverages its core strengths to advance four overarching global health goals:

Nurses - an evidence based solution to poor quality of care

Professor Linda Aiken delivered the 2014 Winifred Raphael Memorial Lecture - "Quality Nursing Care: What makes a difference."
Professor Aiken describes a European study into nursing and quality of care. The study shows that patient outcomes correlate directly to
1. nurse:patient ratio
2. nurse education
Findings are consistent across Europe and across quality indicators.
She concludes that safe nurse staffing is in the public's interest and makes good business sense; that nurses are an evidence-based solution to poor quality of care.
The video lasts for 57 minutes, and it is good use of your time!
